For the purposes of any data protection legislation in force, Hill’s Pet Nutrition – a division of Colgate-Palmolive Europe Sarl (hereinafter referred to as Hill’s), Grabetsmatteg, CH-4106, Therwil, Switzerland, is the data controller in respect of your personal information that we collect and process as further described in this Privacy Statement. Your personal data will be processed in Switzerland, countries of the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA), and also in the U.S.A. The European Commission has determined that Switzerland has an adequate level of protection for personal data. In case a third party is processing the data in the U.S.A. and in a country of the EEA which does not have an adequate level of protection, this third party has entered into an agreement with Hill’s pursuant to which it has agreed to ensure a level of protection regarding the data equivalent to the safeguards currently set out in European data protection law. The transfer of personal data to a third country may only take place if the third country in question ensures an adequate level of data protection and the Member States’ laws, which comply with the other provisions of the European Directive. These provisions are to be respected prior to the transfer and afterwards. Hill’s has incorporated the standard contractual clauses in the abovementioned agreement, in compliance with the decision of the Commission of European Communities of 5th February 2010 on standard contractual clauses for the transfer of personal data to processors established in third countries, under article 26(4) of Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council or with the decision of the Commission of European Commission on standard contractual clauses for the transfer of personal data to other controllers established in third Countries, under article 26(4) of Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council. These transfers, because to these agreements, can take place without the data subjects’ consent.
The Personal Information We Collect
By ‘personal information’ we mean names, titles, occupation, addresses, email addresses, telephone numbers, age (birth date), passport details or national registration numbers (such as GDC numbers in the UK) and any other personal information you voluntarily provide, for example by completing an online questionnaire. We collect personal information only if it is offered voluntarily by you. This information is referred to in this Privacy Statement as personal information. The amount of personal information we request can depend on the type of resources or events you would like to access on the website.
How we use personal information
We use the personal information collected online to maintain your account profile, register you for events (including if applicable hotel reservations), provide you with the service or information you may have requested, reply to your comments or questions. For all purposes we will contact you using the means of communication that you provide to us.
In addition, users who decide to sign-up to the website and select the second optional tick box “I agree to be contacted by Hill’s Pet Nutrition to know more about Hill’s professional education opportunities, programmes, new products, services and exclusive professional offers.” (referred to later as the “Yes” box), agree to be contacted for any commercial or marketing reasons (e.g. with information on new product launches, exclusive professional offers, professional samples, community events and patient leaflets); to be provided with any potential opportunities for professional education (e.g. scientific and educational materials and information on webinars, lectures and other educational events); and to request their participation in surveys. This means that you will be contacted only if you have given your express consent for our commercial and marketing purposes, by ticking the “Yes” box. You have the right to object to such contacts any time, by following the instructions given in paragraph “Your choices about receiving further information from Hill’s”. You can ask to object to one or more means of contact (i.e.: only email and / or Sms). If you do not clarify the extent of this objection, we will not contact you at all any more, by no means.
Users who decide to sign-up to the website and select only the first mandatory tick box “I confirm that I am a qualified veterinary professional or a veterinary student and I agree to the Terms of Usage of the Hill’s Global Symposium 2018. The Terms also include the privacy statement, the right for Hill’s to take videos during the event and use these and the anti-bribery provisions.’, nevertheless agree to provide an email address where they can be contacted:
– as described in the section ‘Professional qualification’ of the Terms of Usage
– by the 3rd party webinar provider (in conjunction with the specific event(s) that they have registered to attend)
– in order to provide them with an incentive they have rightfully earned (at our sole discretion) through successfully completing a professional education event on the website
– to provide them with a product, service or information they have directly requested in a second step.
Disclosure and sharing of personal information
Besides, we may share your personal information with our contractors or service providers, such as hotels, event venues, event organising agencies, companies who help us with mailings or order fulfilment. This will be done on terms which ensure that your personal information is safeguarded and held securely. Our contractors and service providers have been designated in writing “data processors” and are strictly controlled by us. Your personal information may be used by us, our employees, contractors or agents and disclosed to third parties, in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our Website Terms of Usage, or other agreements we have with or otherwise concerning you (including agreements between you and us), or to protect our rights, property or safety or those of our customers, employees and other third parties.

Sale of our brands or business

MEDIA CONSENT & RELEASE
By accepting these Terms & Conditions, you also agree to the following:
- Give and grant to Hill’s Pet Nutrition – a division of Colgate-Palmolive Europe sàrl (“Hill’s”), and its subsidiaries and affiliated companies, and their respective assignees, licensees, successors in interest, agents, and legal representatives (herein collectively the “Licensed Parties”), the right to photograph/videotape you during Hill’s Global Symposium (27-28 April, 2018), and the right to use, publish and copyright your name(s), title, likeness, and / or photo(s) / video(s) of you (collectively, “Content”). This confers to Hill’s an unlimited worldwide usage of Content in any and all media and types of advertising and promotion, now known and hereafter developed, of brands, foods, services, and/or products of Hill’s.
- Any Content you submit to Hill’s or which is taken of you shall become the property of Hill’s and will not be returned to you.
- You hereby waive any right that you may have to inspect and/or approve the finished work or the copy that may be used in connection with your name, image, picture, voice or other likeness, or the use to which said finished work may be applied.
- In connection therewith you hereby release, discharge and agree to hold Hill’s and Licensed Parties and all persons acting under the permission and authority of each, harmless from any and all claims, actions, demands, damages, losses, costs, charges, recoveries, judgments, penalties, liabilities and expenses (including, but not limited to, costs of litigation and/or reasonable attorney fees), arising out of, or in connection with, the use(s) according to the terms of this release, including, but not limited to, those based on copyright, invasion of privacy or publicity, false endorsement, defamation, and/or by virtue of any blurring, distortion, alteration or optical illusion, whether intentional or otherwise in connection with said use.
- You further understand that no additional payments will be due to you.
- You understand that Hill’s and/or Licensed Parties are not obligated to exercise any of the rights granted herein.
- You are of legal age and capacity and have read and understand the content of this Media Consent & Release Section.
COLGATE-PALMOLIVE COMPANY GLOBAL ANTI-BRIBERY POLICY
Our Anti-Bribery Commitment
Colgate’s commitment to dealing legally and ethically applies worldwide. We comply with all applicable anti-bribery laws, including but not limited to the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”), everywhere we do business, and we expect the same of the third parties with whom we work. While the FCPA prohibits, among other things, bribery of foreign government officials and entities, other anti-bribery laws, like the UK Bribery Act, prohibit commercial bribery between private individuals and entities.
Colgate people and any third parties acting on our behalf or in connection with our business are prohibited from giving or offering anything of value directly or indirectly to any government official or entity, or to any private individual or entity, in order to improperly obtain or retain any business advantage or to improperly affect any act or decision.
This prohibition includes any facilitating, expediting or “grease” payments made to government officials, either directly or indirectly, in order to expedite any official service or function (for example, small payments made to an official to move Colgate’s application to the front of the line or to shorten the time frame in which services or other actions are provided). Any official fees supported by government-issued receipts do not qualify as improper payments.
Maintaining Accurate Books and Records
No payment by or on behalf of the Company shall be approved or made if any part of the payment is to be used for an unlawful or improper purpose, or for any purpose other than that described by valid documents supporting the payment. No false or misleading entries should be made in any books or financial records of the Company for any reason.
Any expenses that an employee or third party incurs on Colgate’s behalf or in connection with our business shall not be reimbursable unless they are lawful and supported by detailed documentation including, for example, valid invoices or receipts.
Expenditures Related to Government Officials
No funds may be provided to or spent on behalf of a government official or entity, directly or indirectly, without advance written approval from Colgate’s Global Legal Organization. This includes any payments, gifts, donations, entertainment, travel, meals, or other items of value. Advance approval is not required for official fees supported by government-issued receipts (e.g., permit or license fees).
Please note that the term “government official” is widely defined and may include individuals who are employed by any public or state-affiliated institution or organization or who act in an official capacity in any way, whether full-time, part-time or unpaid. Government officials can be found in every branch and level of government and public life and may include anyone from low-level customs employees, to employees of state-owned media outlets, to high-ranking lawmakers, as well as researchers, professors, teachers, dentists, veterinarians, or other professionals and Key Thought Leaders. If you are in doubt as to whether an individual could be considered a government official, you should contact the Global Legal Organization.
In addition to prohibiting bribery of government officials, Colgate also prohibits its employees and third parties from engaging in bribery of private parties. You should not seek to improperly influence the judgment or conduct of any party with whom you might be conducting Company business by offering or providing any payments, gifts or other benefits, or by any other unlawful inducement.
Colgate’s reputation depends on the conduct of our employees as well as the conduct of those with whom we do business. It is our goal to ensure that Colgate People and the third parties with whom we work reflect the same high ethical standards and demonstrate a commitment to compliance with all applicable laws. We further expect our third parties to ensure that their employees and subcontractors understand and comply with this Anti-Bribery Policy.
Failure to comply with this Anti-Bribery Policy or any applicable anti-bribery laws, including but not limited to the FCPA, may result in civil or criminal penalties, as well as termination of the employment or business relationship.
