Cognitive Dysfunction in Ageing Pets

Although Cognitive Dysfunction Syndrome does not affect all dogs it is probably more common than is diagnosed. Many older dogs have early signs but owners (and sometimes veterinarians) just put it down to “getting old” and believe that there is nothing that can be done to help them. But by understanding the disease process and judiciously using diet, mental and physical exercise as well as medications many dogs can have not only a longer life, but also a happier and fulfilling life with their owner.
